ID cards with a unique QR code or barcode on every card
Add one QR code or barcode to the template and IDCardGen creates a different code for every card from your Excel data — ready for attendance apps, library systems and gate scanners.
Unique code per card
Link the code to a column such as Roll No., Admission No. or Employee ID — every card gets its own code.
QR or Code-128 barcode
QR codes for phones and apps; Code-128, Code-39, EAN and other barcodes for handheld scanners.
Combine fields
Encode text plus data, e.g. a verification URL followed by the student's ID.
Transparent background
Codes can sit directly on your card design — keep enough contrast for reliable scanning.
Print sharp
Codes are rendered at 300 or 600 DPI so they scan reliably even when small.
Works in bulk
Generate hundreds of coded cards from one Excel sheet in a single run.
FAQ
How do I add a QR code to an ID card?
Add a QR element to your template and set its value to a column, e.g. {{RollNo}}. Each card then gets a QR code with its own roll number.
Can the QR code open a website?
Yes — use a URL as the value, for example a verification page followed by the ID: https://your-school.in/verify/{{RollNo}}.
Which barcode types are supported?
QR code, Code-128, Code-39, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A and ITF-14.
Why does my barcode show 'Invalid barcode value'?
Some formats accept only digits (EAN, UPC, ITF) or a fixed length. Use Code-128 or a QR code for letters and mixed values.
